Ms Jackie has been a Classical Pilates Instructor for over 11 years. During her career she has taught a wide range of clientele, from NFL players to Broadway dancers.
She received her certification in 2007 from the highly recognized organization Romana’s Pilates™. There she gained the foundation of the exercises, philosophies, and and original heritage of the method handed down from the original creator of Pilates, Joseph Pilates.
Her education from this organization has always been the groundwork and resonates in her practice as she has developed it over the years.
Originally from Ulster and Dutchess Counties in upstate New York, she grew up an athlete as an Equestrian in competitions ranging from Junior Western to Eventing and Field Hunting Trials.
Her Pilates career began with her work at Equinox Fitness Clubs in Manhattan, New York as a Pilates Coordinator. She received an invitation to teach at True Pilates New York until leaving NY for South Florida. Her practice in New York gave her the exposure and experience that offered her another opportunity with professional athletes in South Florida.
After accepting the offer she opened her first studio True Pilates Miami in 2011, a noteworthy accomplishment and a requirement to become a Level 4 Teacher Trainer for the Romana’s Pilates Organization. This allowed her to assist in Continuing Professional Education Seminars and Advanced Training Workshops. Her knowledge of joint structure and biomechanics was enhanced through her training in Muscle Activation Techniques™ MAT.
In addition to operating her own studio, currently, Ms Jackie is working in an integrated program with The Miami Dolphins Athletic Performance Department since 2015. She oversees the program, and is also highly regarded by members of the University of Miami Baseball team.
Her in-depth understanding of the neuromuscular system and joint mechanics combined with her passion for the art of Classical Pilates has helped hundreds with severe injuries. Her passion and ability to be in-tune with her clients’ needs and to continuously challenge them is what keeps them coming back.
